PHP error

  • When trying to open the install.php with IE I am getting the following error:

    Error: PHP is not running
    WordPress requires that your web server is running PHP. Your server does not have PHP installed, or PHP is turned off.

    I am a complete noob when it comes to PHP. I tried installing Xampp, but the did not work. Going under “all programs” > “Php 5” on the server only shows a liscense and php.ini file.

    Any suggestions?
