PHP error
-
I’ve seen questions related to this a few other times, but I wan’t able to understand the solutions. Mostly people just updated the thread to say they figured it out, so I suspect I’m missing something pretty basic.
When trying to run the five minute install, wp-admin/install.php opens in my browser as code with the error:
<h2>Error: PHP is not running</h2>
<p>WordPress requires that your web server is running PHP. Your server does not have PHP installed, or PHP is turned off.</p>
</body>I know that my hosting service (laughing squid) does work with WordPress and that apache is installed on my computer. I went through httpd.conf and confirmed that everything looks like it should there.
I suspect there’s probably some in between step I’ve missed that would have resolved this issue, but I’ve been messing with it all last night and this morning, and I just can’t figure out what it is.
Thanks for any help.
