    Hi,

Every now and then, I get a fatal error on the website when signing in. Upon checking the error log, I saw this message below:

Thanks for reaching out @ssgpartnerships, and sorry to hear you’re encountering errors. As we’re investigating similar reports of this, so we can determine more on this please share the following:

    1. Your Site Health information. You can use this form to share privately if preferred.
    2. Is you recall, has this just started to occur since a particular plugin update, or does it happen frequently?
    3. Do you see these errors within the wp-admin dashboard, or are these visible with error reporting on and display errors set to true?

Let me know if you have any questions with the above.

    Hi James,

    Thanks for your quick response.

I have filled out the form.

I have auto-update enabled for the plugins on the site so I can only assume it was after an update.

I have display error set to false so I don’t see any errors. The php error I sent was from our hosting provider.

    Hope this helps.

    Thank you

Many thanks for sharing @ssgpartnerships. Based on your report, along with others, I’ve created the following GitHub issue:
    https://github.com/google/site-kit-wp/issues/6624

While I don’t have a confirmed workaround on this, have you tried disabling the auto update feature for Site Kit and maybe your theme?

    Hi James,

Many thanks for the suggestion. I have disabled auto-update for now.

    Hi @ssgpartnerships,

We have the latest version of Site Kit almost ready to ship. This includes a change that will hopefully ensure users such as yourself no longer encounter the fatal error which you reported, based on the same circumstances.

In order to test this, can you enable auto updates once more, ideally with the same error appearing as you described. If you can recreate the same error, you can then test out the upcoming Site Kit release by downloading the associated zip file?and uploading as a regular plugin. You may need to confirm a plugin update after doing so.

It would be great if you can confirm that you no longer encounter the same error after updating. Let me know if you have any questions, and thanks again for reporting this!
