PHP Error with Tutor LMS 1.8.2

    I updated to Tutor LMS 1.8.2, because the pro version of 1.8.1 seems to require it.

    After updating, I get the following error:

    Parse error: syntax error, unexpected ')' in /var/www/vhosts/cetup-digital.cet.tu-dortmund.de/httpdocs/wp-content/plugins/tutor/classes/Utils.php on line 1722

    It doesn’t matter if I install a fresh version, if I update, if I remove the pro version first, or if every other plugin is deactivated. The error when updating or activating version 1.8.2 shows the error above.

    Is this a known problem?

    WordPress 5.6.1 with Divi and PHP 7.2.24-0ubuntu0.18.04.7.

  • So, I’m having exactly the same error above, exactly when I upgraded to the new version (1.8.2) this same error appeared ”
    An error of type E_PARSE was caused on line 1722 of the file /home1/sant5643/public_html/wp-content/plugins/tutor/classes/Utils.php. Error message: syntax error, unexpected ‘)’ ”

    I tried to revert the plug version to 1.8.1, then to 1.8.0, 1.7.9 to 1.7.2 and still the same error continues.

    Really sorry about the issue. It is happening because of using an older version of PHP. The support for PHP 7.2 ended at November 2020. WordPress itself recommends using 7.4.

    So, please upgrade to a latest version of PHP or you may wait for our next release. We are going to add the backward compatibility. I hope we will be able to release a quick fix within a couple of hours.
