After I upgrade jetpack 2.3.7 (not sure) with WangGuard 1.5.7, it makes my sites down with following error:

PHP Fatal error: Call to undefined function wp_get_current_user() in /wp-includes/capabilities.php on line 1451

When I removed this plugin only, the website is back and no above issue so I believe it’s because of this plugin, please have a look and correct.

    Hi,

Are you using Multisite Plugin Manager?

If yes, the problem is not WangGuard, is Multisite Plugin Manager.

Deactivate that plugin and you will see that all works again (with WangGUard active)

There is something wrong when WangGuard and Multisite Plugin Manager are in the same install.

At this time, you you have to choose between WangGuard and Multisite Plugin Manager.

I can investigate why it is happenning, but the mystery is solved.

    Kind regards

Yes, you are right, I have also Multisite Plugin Manager. I will remove it if it’s working or not.

    Yes,

If you remove Multisite Plugin Manager, WangGuard will work without problems.

After look for a fix, I found a Fork of Multisite Plugin Manager that works fine.

The Developer forked that plugin because he had a lot of problems like yours.

I tested the plugin and works fine without problems.

You can Download the plugin from this link:

    https://github.com/wp-repository/multisite-plugin-manager/archive/master.zip

You will need to rename the plugin folder from multisite-plugin-manager-master to multisite-plugin-manager

You can see all the code here:

    https://github.com/wp-repository/multisite-plugin-manager

I mark this topic as resolved.

    Kind regards

    You’re welcome

    Hello,

I attempted to upgrade word press and got the following error:

Fatal error: Call to undefined function wp_get_current_user() in /home4/rpaisley/public_html/resetnaturally.com/wp-includes/capabilities.php on line 1281

I see that others have struggled with a similar error but honestly…i have read the troubleshooting tips and I have no idea what the mean. I am very naive in this arena.

Where do i start, i cannot even get to my “admin”?

    thanks!

The problem, I think, is a plugin.

Do you use Multisite plugin manager?

Thank you…I was using multisite plugin manager and disabled it and it worked for me…

New to multisite here…am i going to come across problems like this with a lot of plugins that may not work well with this multisite setup?

No, all plugins work with multisite but Multisite Plugin Manager has a lot of problems with other plugins. If you want to use it, you can use the forked version in GitHub.

    Kind regards
