    Honestly, I am making a stab in the dark with this topic. I’ve received two alerts from Kinsta that a PHP Fatal error occurred:

    Uncaught Error: Call to undefined function tribe() in /www/thermalsupport_582/public/wp-content/plugins/pods/includes/general.php:3228

    No other context was provided.
    All plugins, themes, and WordPress are updated.

    I hope someone can point me in the right direction to resolve the error.

    Thanks,
    Kathy Drewien

    Which version of Pods are you currently using? That will help us find where exactly the tribe() call is happening from and we can make a few additional suggestions at that point.

    I know you mentioned all plugins are updated, but I just need to verify since the line that error is talking about seems to not match up to our current version.

    Could you please also provide your Site Health information to help us determine what might be causing this problem? To get that, you can go to your WordPress dashboard area and go to: Tools > Site Health > Info, then Press the “Copy site info to clipboard” button, and paste the results here.

    Try replacing your file at: wp-content/plugins/pods/includes/general.php

    with the contents of the latest patched version of that file: https://raw.githubusercontent.com/pods-framework/pods/release/2.8.17/includes/general.php

    I’ve got this potential fix prepared for the next release but I’ve never seen this issue encountered before so it’s totally possible it’s not going to solve it entirely for you as there may be other cases where it’s just not loading one of our library dependencies. We will know more once you try adjusting the file and we can see if it solves it.

    You can also try defining WP_DEBUG as true in your wp-config.php file to see what the real error is on the page (instead of the blank error 500).

    These normally help me when I’m testing as it generally covers any potential area that may stop debugging output from showing:

    define( 'WP_DEBUG', true );
    define( 'WP_DEBUG_DISPLAY', true );
    define( 'WP_DEBUG_LOG', true );
    ini_set( 'display_errors', '1' );
    error_reporting( E_ALL );

    We replaced the file as suggested and the site is back online.

    I did not use WP_DEBUG prior to replacing the file.

    Pods 2.8.17 addresses the issue here in a way that is more future-proof. Thanks for your patience on this.
