PHP Fatal error when calling featured-content.php

Hi,
Since update to WP5.2 and Polylang 2.5.4 we get the frontpage will display that the site is experiencing technical difficulties.
Only after selecting a sub page, using the language selector to switch to another language – going back to the home page and switching back to the original language (in our case Dutch) the homepage is displayed in full.The web error log shows:
Backend fatal error: PHP Fatal error: Uncaught Error: Access to undeclared static property: Featured_Content::$post_types in /xxx/xxx/xxx/xxx/public_html/wp/wp-content/plugins/polylang/modules/plugins/featured-content.php:80\nStack trace:\n#0Theme is Twentyfourteen
PHP version is 7.3. (but switching back to PHP 7.2. did not help).
Any ideas?

The issue is different.
Jetpack and Twenty Fourteen define the same Featured_Content class. But it’s different in the plugin and in the theme. Another user made a pull request to improve the behavior with Jetpack and I did not notice that it would break Twenty Fourteen.
The only fix for now is to revert to Polylang 2.5.3 available at https://downloads.www.ads-software.com/plugin/polylang.2.5.3.zip
