PHP Function callback from Admin dashboard?

A browser, where the button exists, cannot execute PHP, it’d have to make a HTTPS request and have the server execute the PHP. Either by requesting a new page or through Ajax techniques.

WP accommodates Ajax through admin-ajax.php, so it’s “built-in” in a sense, but implementing it is likely not as simple as you may have imagined.
