PHP installation appears to be missing the MySQL extension, what do I do?

Do you manage your server or do you use some hosting provider?

1) If you manage it, you have to install the extension. Check “Your PHP installation appears to be missing the MySQL extension which is required by WordPress.”
2) If you use a hosting provider, talk with your hosting.

I, too, am looking for an answer here. I’ve done the upgrade to WP 5.8.1, then switch to PHP 7.4 (from 5.6) and now have this error.

Based on all the knowledge linked to by previous poster (not really helpful), I’m supposed to update WP. But I did that and it didn’t help.

Can we get some official word, here?
