At the top of every admin page is this notice…

PHP MBString Extension is not enabled in your php setup, please enabled to work perfectly Easy Table of Contents. Check official doc: PHP Manual

But checking the active PHP extensions on the server indicates the extension was already active.

Hi, thank you for reaching out to us. Could you please confirm if any PHP warnings appear at the top or if there are any pop-ups? Please share a screenshot of what you’re seeing on your end so we can investigate further.

Sorry for wasting your time with this one… the warning message is gone. Now I’m thinking it was a hosting issue (edit: also, I updated to PHP 8.1 from 8.0, so maybe that fixed it, or the overall reset from switching PHP versions fixed it, either way it seems fixed). If it comes back I will let you know, but for now it’s ok. Thank you again for this excellent plugin and the work you do to maintain it.

No problem. You can ask whatever issue you have. This kind of error happens when your setup is not done correctly. If you face the same issue, kindly refer to this manual once https://tocwp.com/docs/knowledge-base/how-to-enable-mbstring-extension/ and perform all the steps mentioned in it. We are marking this thread as closed for now, but reach out to us if you need help.

    Have a great day ahead!!
