    Hi everyone,

As a ‘test’ I have done e fresh install of WP 3.4.2 (virgin DB) and only downloaded and activated the plugin WP memory usage. It shows a Memory usage of 37.62 MByte?!? On a virgin install? This seems quite steep no?

This would mean that WP will not run on shared servers with 32MB of PHP memory?

I was wondering if the almost 38Mb of memory usage is normal, or that there is an issue server side?

    Thanks,

    Obi

WordPress can only just about run on 32M on some server, so this is not unexpected. The exact amount of memory needed for a vanilla install will depend, in part, on the server. From what I recall, PHP enabled as FastCGI will tend to consume more memory.

Ok, Thanks for the answer Esmi.
Nice to hear that I am not a one off.
Looks like I will have to upgrade my hosting pack since it only supports up to 64MB. (If I install WPEC it almost hits that mark already)
