PHP Parse error

    Hello FEL-friends,

    since a few days I get the following error:

    PHP Parse error: syntax error, unexpected ‘string’ (T_STRING), expecting function (T_FUNCTION) or const (T_CONST) in /var/www/vhosts/hansa-rostock.fans/httpdocs/wp-content/plugins/fast-ebay-listings/includes/listing.inc.php on line 34

    Does somebody know what it means?

    I’m using FEL 2.12.6

    What version of PHP are you using here? I suspect I may have inadvertently introduced some code that is dependent upon PHP ver 7.4 or higher.

    Though note, even version 7.4 of PHP has been end-of-life with no security updates since 1st Jan 2023.

    Not heard back from you, so I assume you managed to resolve this, possibly by upgrading your PHP version. Do let me know if you need further assistance, happy to help.

    Sorry for my late reply.

    My PHP version is 8.3.7, so my installation should fit your requirements.

    Hi Tino,

    Did installing PHP 8.3.7 address the problem? Were you indeed running a version of PHP prior to version 7.4 before that when you first encountered the error?

    I presume you were not running PHP 8.3.7, which was released on 9th May 2024, when you first hit this issue and submitted this thread on 6th April 2024.

    Eitherway, let me know if you’re still encountering this error and I’ll investigate it further.
