    So it seems that now we need already PHP8.1? Now most of our clients sites which have lower hosting plans cannot update the plugin. And yes, we know that even 8.0 is too old but WordPress core requires 7.4.

    You are free to use it on any lower version than 8.1 and it will probably work but even 8.1 is currently only receiving security updates so that really should be the minimum version you should use either way.

    So it will most likely work, but no guarantees.

    Actually nobody can update to newer version since WordPress and all management services blocks the plugin update at wp-admin if the php requirements are not met. Only way to update is to manually update via FTP?
