PHP source code and WP/Markdown

    Hi,
    I’m using wordpress for a tutorial website i’m running. I want to add some php source code. I have the markdown plug-in running.

    I’m putting the code in backticks but the wordpress formatting is adding a space between < and ?php. Which is annoying.

    Any way i can prevent this from happening?
