I think you might be using a Windows server, is that the case? If so, certain steps need to be completed in order to allow pretty permalinks to function. If this post isn’t helpful, run a quick search and you’ll quickly find others. I was searching for something like: windows server wordpress permalinks

For sure. Checking whether you’re on Windows or Linux hosting should be quite an easy check. Could even be on your hosting bill.

Andrew, it had nothing to do with Linux or Windows. One of the links you sent me indicated that both index.php & .htaccess files need to be in my root directory and WordPress sub directory. Thanks for the help.
