    Hi,

I was wondering what are the risks of changing my host php version since wooocommerce asks me to upgrade it to a newer version.

My current php version is 5.4.45 and it says I should have at least 5.6

I haven’t dared to change it since it appears to me a risky thing. And Also my host company told me I can only change the php version but not the mysql version

Are there any thing I should do prior to this upgrade besides a backup?

I am running woocommerce with storefront theme and wordpress, all latest versions.

Any hints or thoughts would be really much welcome.

    Thanks

  • @carlos-jaramillo that’s really a question for your hosting company. Although any hosting company that hasn’t forced you to upgrade PHP by now I wouldn’t expect a lot of support from. PHP 5.4 support was discontinued over a year ago, so it’s been a while since I ran upgrades on any sites, but I didn’t have any issues. Although issues usually vary by hosting company.
