I am looking to install a sortable table of book references, and wonder if this is compatible with PHP 8.1?

In updating a different site to a version of PHP newer than 5.6, without a developer to help (and with some bad advice from my host), we broke the site, so I am a bit wary of using a plug-in that is listed for PHP 5.6.

Can you confirm that this works with a newer version of PHP? If not, are you planning such an update?

It should work fine, I’m currently running it on 8.0 and did not generate errors when I ran it on 8.1 (but other plugins did)

more broadly if you are doing anything complex either hire a dev or at a minimum have a test website.

Thanks; absolutely! I when plugintests.com did not show any problems with my plug-ins, I relied on the hosting support to explain why a domain that was NOT my WordPress site was using PHP 5.6 and that it was O.K. to delete it. The second support person put that domain back and upgrading to a new block-based theme solved my PHP issues; the look is slightly different, but all is functional and easier to maintain.

Thanks so much for the quick reply; really appreciated!

Okay I’ll resolve for good order but will still monitor the thread and reopen in necessary
