PHP Warning: An unexpected error occurred.

    Hello guys!

    I am experiencing this error almost each time I perform some activity on my wordpress site (install/deactivate plugins etc)

    [16-Mar-2023 13:30:49 UTC] PHP Warning: An unexpected error occurred. Something may be wrong with www.ads-software.com or this server’s configuration. If you continue to have problems, please try the support forums. (WordPress could not establish a secure connection to www.ads-software.com. Please contact your server administrator.) in /wp-includes/update.php on line 447

    Everything started (most probably) after I tried updating some libraries on the server terminal using: apt install php-gd
    I have then reverted back some of the updates (since there were some installations of PHP 8.1 related stuff, which I am not needing since I am using PHP 7.4) – then I restarted my server, but still same issue occurs on all my WordPress sites hosted on this server.

    Can I still “fix” this error somehow without a backup? Or tell me what I might have done wrong?
