PHP Warning: Attempt to read property “ID” on null

  • The plugin seems to work OK, but it is logging heaps of these messages:

    [16-Dec-2023 04:15:47 UTC] PHP Warning: Attempt to read property "ID" on null in /home/wcipporg/public_html/wp-content/plugins/avatar-manager/avatar-manager.php on line 1144

    This is on WordPress 6.4.2 and PHP 8.1.26

  • The same warning here, which caused a serious problem: the customization of the OceanWP theme wouldn’t open. Had to disable the plugin in order to get the customization working again.

    Don’t know why, but the plugin was messing with some JS code. The warning was being written in the middle of javascript code generated by the file wp-admin/customize.php, causing it to become incorrect.

    I’m not sure if it causes problems, I suspect not, at least for my situation (same theme). I hacked my own solution then noticed a better one on the github site (comment on the issue there). Not sure how long it takes to be released…
