I am concerned about an error in my file manager that is being brought up in regards to the Forminator plugin.

strlen() expects parameter 1 to be string, array given in /home/customer/www/theportfolioclinic.com/public_html/wp-content/plugins/forminator/library/fields/select.php

Please can someone explain the error and a possible solution please?

My website is intermittently an issue on safari browser – could this be the issue?

The page I need help with: [log in to see the link]

    Hi @theportfolioclinic

    I hope you’re well today!

This error is related to the part of the function that’s responsible for field validation.

It’s quite strange, I must say, because according to the code it looks as if the select field set to “single” mode would be getting multiple selected options submitted – which should not really be possible.

    Let me ask then:

    1. is this error happening upon each form submission or just some?
    2. you mentioned that site has intermittent issues in Safari – what kind of issues and is the form issue happening only in Safari too or in different browsers?
    3. was the select filed on the form ever set to “Multiple” type in the past and then changed to “Single “type” later?

Could you also, please, export the form and share that export with us so we could check it?

    To do that:

    – go to “Forminator -> Forms” page in site’s back-end
    – click on a little “gear” icon next to the form in question
    – select “Export” option and copy provided export code
    – put that code at https://pastebin.com and share link to that paste in response below

Note: this will not include any already submitted data – we don’t need that and it will stay safely in your site only.

    Best regards,
    Adam

Hi Adam, thanks for the quick response.

    In answer to your questions:

1)I think this is only happening on some submissions.

    2) I don’t know if the safari issue is related to this. I was evaluating my php error log to try and identify what could be causing the safari issue and found this error which I did not understand. The two issues could be unrelated.

    3) I don’t believe so!

Here are the exports for the two forms I have:

    Hi @theportfolioclinic,

To investigate the issue further, I imported the forms to a test website at my end, but importing the first form failed with an error.

I was able to import the “Mentee registration” form, however, wasn’t able to replicate the mentioned error at my end.

Wouldn’t you mind please re-exporting the other form and share with us so that we can check this further?

We look forward to hearing back from you.

    Kind Regards,
    Nebu John
