phpbb and wp intergration: comments to forum post

Hello
I was wondering if anyone knew a way to make it so that when you post in wp you can have the comments take you to a post on a forum for discussion? i suspect the forum post would need to be made first and then the article and possible just input the url to the forum post in a field somewhere in wp. any suggestions on how to do this?

There is a mod for phpBB called “phpbb_fetch_all” which will let you insert data into the phpBB system automatically. I used this to shoehorn trackbacks-as-comments into phpBB. You could modify it to insert a WP post as a new phpBB post, then modify your WP index.php to take you to that post’s forum.

Ive been working on this for a few weeks and have something working. I modified an existing system which integrated MT and PHPBB, with PHPBB being the comment section.

I wrote up some directions on how to do it. Its really rough and there are some minor problems, such as having to rename the two functions get_userdata and make_clickable.

Anything for this? I love the idea but hours of searching have yielded nothing comprehensible or stable.

I have created a plugin for WP that integrates the comment system and more. It is stable with a few site admins running it.
