  • The new phpMyAdmin 3.4.3.2 confused me to. I haven’t tested this, but it looks pretty simple. In phpMyAdmin:

    1. Click “Export” option on the top of the page.
    2. Select “Custom – display all possible options” option.
    3. Check “Add DROP TABLE / VIEW / PROCEDURE / FUNCTION” option at the “Object creation options” section.
    4. Scroll down and click “Go” button.
    5. Save backup to your local computer.

Is phpMyAdmin the best method for database backup? Or is CPanel > ‘Download a MySQL Database Backup’ just as good.
The latter seems more straightforward because there are no options to tick.

@metapete If that works for you, then great. I’ve never used CPanel. Is that something that’s software-specific with your hosting?
