Pic in the sidebar?

    I would like to add a pic to the sidebar, obviously a text widget is not going to allow this, can someone advise plz. new to this ( and yes, I did search first). Preferably to the about me section if possible, txs.

    A text widget will do you fine there, just put the <img src=…> code in there and it should work.

    Ok, I am still missing something, where to upload the pic to?
    Can I assume the images folder? Can I upload it using the blog’s ‘write’ upload dialog box (doubting that) or must it be ftp’ed?

    You can do both. When you upload an image under “write”, you get to see the image and the full path which you can use in the <img src="...> command. Personally I prefer FTP, but the result is the same.
