pictures upload problems

Since upgrading to 2.8 I also can’t get the Upload/Insert buttons to work — clicking on them does absolutely nothing.

yes, i just uploaded the new 2.8v and doesn’t do anything for me… frustrating.

Deactivate all your plugins, switch to the default theme. If the problem goes away, switch back to your theme and activate the plugins one-by-one until the problem happens again.

Its sad, its my first time using wordpress, and cant even get it to run normally. hummmmm, maybe it wasnt a good choice.

It runs normally for thousands of people and site across the globe. You just have a hitch we need to find.

Since this happens with the default theme and no plugins that gives us some hints. When you hover over the buttons does a url show in your browser like wp-admin/media-upload/etc.

Also, what browser are you using? Did you try a different one? Could you post your URL?

when I hover over the buttons the URL wp-admin/media-upload/etc comes up yes. Ive tried firefox and IE and my iphone with the new wordpress apps., but notihng works.

Im trying to look into it now, but cant seem to find anything, did I do something wrong in the setup? Though it was really straight forward!!!

Upload to the server the directory WP-admin. You must be missing or have some corrupted files.

Really thank you so much for all your help. And you might be right, cause it really took a long time to upload the file to my server, and some files might have gone missing during that time.

well, I did that, and it didnt work.
So im gonna try to delete everything and just re-install everything again…

If not, then i dont know what to do…

well cant seem to make it work…
Dont understand why…. and it makes me a little annoyed…

one other guy seemed to have the same problem, but he fixed it, just I dont know how to do the same as him.

Having the same issue on a client site. Uploading anything (jpgs, pdfs, etc) seems to complete fine, but nothing is there, no image, no pdf just the filename and info from the upload – it’s like it’s uploading to a tmp folder but not getting moved to the final location. I can use uploader in other plugins such as Register Plus logo upload in the same installation and it saves fine. I’ve re-uploaded all installation files for WP, switched the upload directory, turned off date-based directories, everything suggested in this and other threads. Very baffled what the problem is here.

Any help/suggestions would be greatly appreciated! Thanks!

I think your problem is similar to mine… when you upload pics thru WordPress, does it come up as an X?

Yep, that is the same issue. Only happening on this one installation, have plenty of others working just fine on a different host, so I’m thinking it’s a server issue. I’ll let you know if I find out anything.
