• So I’m trying my best to improve our mobile-user experience and right from the get-go i’ve hit a brick wall.

    It seems no matter what changes I make I can’t get pinch to resize functionality to work. I’ve tried playing around with header.php and

    <meta name=”viewport” content=”width=device-width, initial-scale=1″>

    No matter what adjustments I make it has no effect on the display of our website. I’ve gone through every support thread I can find on the matter and can’t seem to find a solution.

    My only guess is that something on our site is preventing viewport settings from taking over. the site is https://www.globalbodyweighttraining.com

    Am I in over my head? Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

  • I think you are heading in the wrong direction and need to take a step back and work out what to do.

    Firstly, to improve your mobile experience – you need a theme/website that is optimised for mobile. “Pinch to zoom” on websites that are not mobile optimised is hated by the majority of mobile users. No one wants to go “swimming” through a badly optimised website looking for the relevant info.

    What you need to do is use a theme that is either responsive, or adapts to mobile.

    Have a read of this:

    I’m actually on Catalyst-Dynamik with responsive design enabled. There are a few hurdles with this that seem to be cropping up however. Things like our slider/custom widgets not wanting to adapt to different browser sizes which makes sense to me as they aren’t a basic part of our wp theme. I’m confident that there’s plenty of work to do here, but without the ability to adjust the users initial view and zooming capabilities i’m not even sure where to begin as the site displays at the same size on my phone as on my desktop.

    Seems like a very specific platform for WordPress, I would consider checking their forum or speaking to their support direct:

    Fyi, when I tested your site – it was not responsive. It did not resize based on the size of my screen…
