• I’ve searched through the threads here and elsewhere in the support area but have yet to find a fix for my problem.

I just upgraded to 1.5.1.3 about 2 days ago and noticed my pings are not working now. I’ve dug through the options and have not found any settings that look to be changed from what they were previously.

Thanks in advance for your time and help in this matter.

  • Sean – link to a WORDPRESS SITE here AND in your member profile or every post you make WILL BE DELETED.

(He has already posted and linked to a porn site, now it’s a PPC / Ad / equally junk, non-wp site)

“…link to a WORDPRESS SITE here AND in your member profile or every post you make WILL BE DELETED.”

ok, I guess this will be ok, there is no nudity but the theme of the site is a ‘tad’ on the mature side is why I didn’t originally post it here.

can I just leave it in my profile?

You’ve changed it back to the porn site !!

You clearly do not have a WP blog.
You are spamming / PR leeching.
We don’t like that round here.

Your posts will be deleted as soon as I see them ??

    Thread Starter SeanIM

    (@seanim)

it’s not a PPC site, it’s not a porn site as there is “NO” nudity on the site, there is a blog on a subdirectory

as for calling it junk, sorry if that’s how you feel ??

    Thread Starter SeanIM

    (@seanim)

I will gladly change it to whatever you want, I thought you were requesting the link to the site I was having problems with.

    Not porn ????????
    WTF is it then ?

    Thread Starter SeanIM

    (@seanim)

sorry for having offended and in no way shape or form would I try to spam here or anywhere :/ I’ll remove the link from my profile asap, I thought you requested I put it in there in your post that said this:

“Sean – link to a WORDPRESS SITE here AND in your member profile or every post you make WILL BE DELETED.”

    Thread Starter SeanIM

    (@seanim)

again, sorry for having offended, my intention was not to do that, nor did I orginally want to place a link until you requested it

If you want help, you do two things:
    – you tell us precisely where the problem is.
    – you tell us if your site could be considered Not Safe For Work by ANY employer ANYwhere.

    Thread Starter SeanIM

    (@seanim)

ok, the problem is precisely at the location you referred to as junk, spam, pr leaching, etc

Not Safe For Work by ANY employer ANYwhere, I guess you could consider that to be the case, however I don’t see any nudity on the site anywhere but I can understand the policy, I would have loved to use a different example on a different blog, but replicating errors is not always so easy as I’m sure you’re aware

thanks again for letting me know the requirements and sorry to have offended, could you please delete the link to the site here so no one accidently stumbles on it?

    thank you podz

    Cool ??

I have used this site: https://www.tamba2.org.uk/wordpress/TestTrack/index.php and both pinged your latest post, trackbacked to the latest post and pinged the category of the latest post which should have resulted in a ping to the latest post. But nothing at all.

    – When you upgraded did you overwrite the old files or delete them before uploading new ones ? Overwriting will cause errors.

    – Have all the files correctly uploaded ? Check there is not one with a file size of 0

    – Has your host changed anything ?

    Thread Starter SeanIM

    (@seanim)

no changes on the host side, that I know for sure…

And when I upgraded I did overwrite files ?? I read a thread somewhere here that mentioned to do it, and it appeared to work fine for all other functions, the ping seems to be the only thing I lost, I will go look for a 0 file size though, that is possible and something I totally didn’t look for yet, thanks for that tip.

    Thread Starter SeanIM

    (@seanim)

you know I didn’t find any 0 file sizes, but I’m reuploading all the files now just incase one of the sums is off somewhere

I did another upgrade on a different blog and it went find, and the pings appear to be working there

oooo, I just reuploaded them and am making a test post now and it’s taking FOREVER! ?? I think the reuploading of files did the trick…should be done posting in a sec…

thanks a ton podz for the suggestion and the schooling on the ‘getting help etiquette’ around here ??

    :thumbsup

Sorry to have jumped about so much – but we do have people that help from work here, and we do have people linking for PR purposes too. I apologise for annoying you, and I’m glad it works now (I just checked and it does).
