pingback help

  • I have read through all the online help stuff and I’m still stuck.

    When you click into the individual posts it says “Pinging is currently not allowed.”

    What do I do? In the admin area I have the box checked to enable them. What’s the deal?

    Enabling the Option in the Options/Discussions section only changes the default value for when you post. To turn on pings for all posts, you’ll have to edit each individually and check the option for each post, or enter this MySQL command via phpmyadmin (or some other MySQL prompt):

    UPDATE wp_posts SET ping_status="open";
