Pingback Oddity

    All right . . . I am starting to add posts to my new WP installation. To get clean entries, I am manually copying posts from e107 and cleaning up the code as I go. It will be a time-consuming, but I hope, worthwhile, task.

    What I am finding now is that I am getting pingbacks from what I am entering. I think that is good. ?? Yet, when I look at the pingbacks, all it is an excerpt from my post. I do not believe anyone is actually pinging the post (although, perhaps I am wrong).

    Am I doing something wrong with this?

    Self-pinging happens if you have a link to an earlier post of yours with a full (absolute) path link.

    Or are you talking about something else?

    That is exactly what I was asking about.

    What is the preferred method of linking to one’s own posts?
