Pings stopped working!!

    Hello,

    Since Google and other search engines stopped taking pings from the sitemaps, how will the search engine know whether a new article has been published or not? Is it only regarding the manual ping? Will the article get indexed on the search engines after publishing it without the automatic or manual ping service (deprecated option) of this plugin?

  • Hi Vimal, pings on each new post are still going out via Update Services (ping-o-matic should eb there by default) so your new posts will still get found.

    In fact, even though Google has been accepting sitemap pings up until not very log ago, it has been silently ignoring them for a lot longer. I’m considering IndexNow (an alternatif to ping-o-matic) but that does not accept sitemaps, only post/page URLs, so it is a bit out of the scope of this plugin…
