    Hi there. Sorry for the late response.

    What you’re experiencing is what this plugin supports out of the box.

    If you use the native WP gallery features or the NextGen gallery plugin, we’ve added some functionality to our pro version (https://pinplugins.com/) to support the pinning of full-sized images from the thumbnails linking to them.

    Well… it helps in the sense that I know I haven’t made a mistake in setting it up. It doesn’t really help in solving my problem.

    Is there any particular reason why this fix is not implemented in the regular version of the plugin, since the functionality of pinning gallery pictures is obviously present in the plugin?

    Good question. It took quite a bit of custom code to get it working correctly with these two gallery plugins.

    This Lite version, on the other hand, attempts to output code that comes mainly from the official Pinterest widget builder.
