• Hello,

I was hoping someone could let me know how to remove a Pinterest button that shows up on my home page to the left of the heading of my most recent post.

I’ve gone through my plugins and can’t seem to find the culprit.

It doesn’t come up if you click on the post, just when you’re looking at the post on the home screen.

    The site’s https://www.lovefromlisa.com

    Thanks so much in advance.

The page I need help with: [log in to see the link]

  • There is a plugin called pinterest-pin-it-button-on-image-hover-and-post

If you did not install it please ask your theme developers how to remove this feature https://www.ads-software.com/support/theme/sparkling

Thank you @jaycbrf, I’ve deleted the plugin but the issue still remains ??

The hover button has been removed from the top image I see, but the button was left behind in the article. Ask here at the plugin’s support forum: https://www.ads-software.com/support/plugin/pinterest-pin-it-button-on-image-hover-and-post

Sorry I couldn’t be more help – and talking to random cats is a bit crazy!

Thanks so much again @jaycbrf, and what can I say, I’m a crazy cat lover.

You used Firefox to edit while having the Pinterest Browser Button installed, I think. That code is either added at the end of every recent post, or in a template page like single.php. This is not plugin related. Disable the button when you edit in Firefox. There are a number of blocks of code to remove for this.

Hope that helps to point you in a better direction!

Hi all, I’m still having issues with this damn button. I’ve contacted the plugin developers but they can’t help, and I don’t use Firefox.

Does anyone know what I can do?

    Thanks heaps.

The issue isn’t related to a plugin at all. I’ve only seen that happen so far in Firefox, but it’s possible it was in a different browser. There is a large block of code duplicated on either your blog posts or your template page. It looks like this.

    <span style="border-top-left-radius: 2px; border-top-right-radius: 2px; border-bottom-right-radius: 2px; border-bottom-left-radius: 2px; text-indent: 20px; width: auto; padding: 0px 4px 0px 0px; text-align: center; font-style: normal; font-variant-caps: normal; font-weight: bold; font-size: 11px; line-height: 20px; font-family: 'Helvetica Neue', Helvetica, sans-serif; color: #ffffff; background-image: url(data:image/svg+xml; base64,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); background-size: 14px 14px; background-color: #bd081c; position: absolute; opacity: 1; z-index: 8675309; display: none; cursor: pointer; border: none; -webkit-font-smoothing: antialiased; top: 3555px; left: 20px; background-position: 3px 50%; background-repeat: no-repeat no-repeat;">Save</span>

Once you delete that code from wherever it exists, this will be corrected. Look at the end of posts using the text (not visual) editor, or go to Appearance > Editor and look for single.php for this.

What browser do you usually use?

That code ^ might even be inside the content of a page/ post.

    Hi everyone,

    Thanks for your help.

I noticed the text is present and duplicated many times over when I switch to the text version of a post.

I’ve tried deleting all the text and even just leaving it in once and the button is still there.

    Any other suggestions?

    Thanks again

The code is in more than one post. Delete all instances of it in the most recent post, then move to the previous post to delete it, and so on. When I first checked, it appeared in multiple posts, and that’s why I suggested either the posts themselves or that template. Glad you’re starting to find that to remove it!

@darciemg you are the best, thank you so much for this.

It appears to be on 90% of my posts.

I’ve removed it from most of the posts and it’s disappeared, but I’ll keep removing it from the rest just in case it re-apppears it’s nasty head.

    Thanks again,

    Lisa
