Pixelated Thumbnails

    Random pixelated thumbnails. This is what I did.

    1. Checked the thumbnail options = 80×90. Set dimensions to yes
    2. Checked the basic thumbnails = Overried yes. Crop yes.

    If I click the pixelated thumbnail, the image is okay. I tinker my website almost every day and I know this only happened recently. I tried regenerating the thumbnail, still pixelated.

    I tried deleting the gallery and uploading the same image, and the same images that were pixelated got pixelated again. Is this the image fault?

    Hi @cloudduster,

    Sorry to hear of the problem. Let’s try adding the following constant to your wp-config.php file:

    define('NGG_DISABLE_IMAGICK', true);

    Once done, let’s regenerate the thumbnails again to see if that’ll help.

    I have the same issue and tried this change to wp-config. It appeared to help with the preview in the settings/options but when I went to the gallery to rebuild the thumbnails they are still pixelated after being rebuilt. I restored the images from backup in the gallery and that did fix the pixelation. Why did the imagick disabling help this?

    I too have these issues on images with large dimensions such as 4032 x 3024, looks like Nextgen can’t generate clear thumbnail images, the main image is fine once loaded. Have removed site from CDN disabled caching plugin. this is def a Nextgen issue! So frustrating!
