Hi, working on adding Places in GeoDirectory from the back end, and for some reason the “Place Attachments” option only allows me to upload files, not to use files already in our Media Library. Is this by design, or is there something else going on? Latest version of WP, using GD 2.3.10, disabled all plugins, tried with default TwentyTwentyThree theme, etc. Thanks!

    HI @altimac,

    it is by design.

WordPress creates several database rows for each image uploaded through the media library, which works fine for a blog, but becomes quickly a bottleneck for a directory, if you have a high number of listings, each with several pictures.

Only the main picture of each listing is uploaded as featured image and it’s available through the media library.

    Thanks!

Ah, got it. I like that approach, other that that I have over 1,000 images that I need to import from another system, so… if it put all of them somewhere on the server could I import them using the filenames via CSV? Having the client upload them all manually again would not make me very popular ;-(
