Placeholder text in input fields

You have several options…of course the title of the field can be changed, then you have the “help text” which is typically shown under the input field. Finally, you can set up a placeholder, which is text that goes into the input field, but is blanked out when the user clicks into the field.

Set up a placeholder text by adding something like this to the “values” parameter of the field definition:

placeholder::type your name in here

I tried doing as you described but the field seems to disapear, front end, when i choose placeholder instead of text-line.

You don’t need to change the form element type. Leave it as a text-line. The instructions are for how to set the “placeholder” attribute of your text line element.
