    I notice that the Images to WebP block of directives in .htaccess have been prepended within the WordPress block of directives

    It’s not what I would have done.

    That’s correct, that’s how it works… otherwise this plugin will not work.

    It still works fine when I move your block out of the WordPress block. Is it not then safer from being overwritten?

    No, because it use filter hook for generating that WordPress part of htaccess, so it’s not possible to put it out of that.

    What’s the point? It’s working or not?
