Placing an ad within page content

Hello! I need help with how to add an affiliate ad code within my page, like this:

“If you go to this site _______________, blah, blah, blah”
I know how to get the code, I just don’t know how to get it to appear within my content correctly.

It only needs to go within this page. I have tried editing the page and clicking on the link icon, but it won’t work. The icon is not “alive”.

Any other suggestions? I’m not very good with code, so I need specifics for placement and such.
