    Hello Everyone–

    I wanted to let you know, based on feedback and requests, Code for Recovery has decided to initiate two coding efforts:

    We’ll add some rudimentary fields to capture a meeting that has moved to an online format for the duration of this crisis. These changes are for 12-step-meeting list, and while we will continue to work with GSO’s Meeting Guide team, we can’t control when or if they will implement these changes.

    For security and control, we’ll be implementing this for select services. We’d like to hear from you regarding what services you all are using for online meetings. Zoom will obviously be included as lots of groups are using those. So, please leave a comment with what you’re using for those meetings. It isn’t necessary to state one that has already been requested.

    We are also going to work on a feature that allows for mass removal of the temporary closure tag to simplify the work at the end of the crisis. This should simplify things when we do start winding down.

    Anyway, that is our plan. I hope these changes will help.

    On behalf of the team,

  • Thank you. I did update to 3.6.1 and updated the first meeting. That’s the only change I made. Then, I do see the first meeting’s Zoom link in the second meeting’s page.

    I’ll fill out the bug report now.

    Sorry – I ran out of time to do the Github thing. I’m going to be late back to work. I’ll update it tonight.

    Using the plug-in UI:
    The “Online Meeting” type requires a URL in the new video conference field in order for the “Online Meeting” type to stick.

    Thanks @mikecnc for pointing that out. I couldn’t figure out why online meeting type wasn’t sticking.

    Does anyone know if we could put the one-tap mobile number followed by ,, and then meeting id in the phone field below? Example: +13126266799,,123456789#

    @mikecnc,

    The meeting URL needs to pass the validation process (to make safe links) which may be why it failed? What link for the online meeting did you add?

    @tech2serve Is it possible to make the hyperlinks stand out better in the Online Meeting box? Make it blue and bold or is this something I can do behind the scenes in CSS?

    @tech2serve

    Most of the zoom meetings are being submitted with the zoom meeting ID only without the zoom URL. I notice some of the zoom URLs are different so I don’t want to just make it up.

    One decision made regarding online meetings was that if the meeting was part of a group (like a physical address) the online meeting URL would be the same for all meetings of that group.

    So we’re realizing that isn’t going to work for people who use a different URL for each meeting, even if part of a group.

    We’re discussing this now.

    @tech2serve why not just set it up so the URL and phone links (which would be great if it stood out better) were associated with the individual meeting rather than the contact information for the group?

    Hi @octotoot, We know of a pretty large metropolitan area where they set up an online meeting link for the whole group, and so it makes it easier for them rather than having to change each meeting.

    But, we also recognize there are people who didn’t configure that way, so we’re looking at options.

    I have updated the Github bug report with a more thorough description of steps I took, environment I am in, and such. I was not able to replicate the problem for different meetings at different locations. I was also not able to replicate with two meetings at the same Location but not a part of the same Group.

    @tech2serve

    Groups in Poland are using Discord for both audio and text chat capabilities. Audio is used for regular on-line meetings while text channels are used for other activities like sharing readings for the meetings, looking for sponsors and general organization of the group.

    In addition to what @mikecnc wrote – I observe the same behavior. Neither “Online Meeting” nor the meeting url/number is saved after clicking “Publish”. Is it intentional (for the current version)?

    @marekmierzwa, @mikecnc — Try with the full URL to the online Zoom meeting. If that still doesn’t work, please send me the link and I’ll test on my end.
