Playback and Quarter Counters

I am sorry for the half-stupid question. We have been using the plugin with videos that are not within the standard wordpress library so I did not realized that you provide the start and finish counters.

Nevertheless, the part of the question about the quarters still remains.

Yes, I can imagine creating some more complicated analytics in the future, including quarters, although nobody has ever asked for that before.

That may be because agencies such as ours use normally expensive, cloud soluions which provide detailed analytics. We do it too as we really need to report the campaign results to our clients. But I don’t see why we would not use your plugin if the quarters would be available for many projects.

This is easy to implement from a programming standpoint, but I’m trying to understand how this would best be organized because I don’t know how this should look. I prefer handing it off to Google Analytics because they’re good at what they do and I don’t want to waste time duplicating functionality. I already have Play Start and Complete View Events. My first thought is adding 3 Events called 25%, 50%, and 75%. The video title is the Event Label for all 3. In Google Analytics you’d get a chart like this for each Event Label:

Event Action Total Events
Play Start 1,304
25% 612
50% 456
75% 201
Complete View 57

I’ll get it there eventually. Tracking that data in the Media Library will take a little more time, but is still pretty simple.
