Player designed changed by itself. How do I revert this?

  • Hi,

    I just uploaded a new episode using PowerPress to my WordPress from LibSyn library. No changes have been made to WordPress, Plugins, Settings or LibSyn. I have been uploading episodes this way for a while and never had any issues with the player.

    This time, instead of the usual player (thin line with a progress bar and a play button), I got some Black Square with a Play button which leads to a new page to play the episode.

    How do I change this player back? I tried “Having Issues” options, and none of them helped. Again, nothing is different in the way I upload to Libsyn or using PowerPress. I checked individual blog posts, and it’s all identical as well.

    The player example in the second screenshot looks like a video player as opposed to an audio player. Is the media file you linked to a video file like an mp4 or mov? If not, please post a link to the media file as well as a link to your website so we can take a look.

    No, the file is definitely NOT a video file. It’s an MP3 Format file – exactly the same one as we’ve used for previous uploads.

    The media file URL looks like this:
    https://media.blubrry.com/theoryofpets/p/traffic.libsyn.com/theoryofpets/TOP007_-_The_Humanization_of_Pet_Food_with_Dr_Jennifer_Adolphe.mp3?dest-id=414603
    There’s a query string trailing the URL of the file and that may be the issue. Remove the query string so the media URL looks like this:
    https://media.blubrry.com/theoryofpets/p/traffic.libsyn.com/theoryofpets/TOP007_-_The_Humanization_of_Pet_Food_with_Dr_Jennifer_Adolphe.mp3
    Update the post and see if that fixes the problem.
