Player lists / past teams

    Player lists set to “Auto” membership seem to no longer include players with “Past Team” membership.

    I have a hockey team from the 2015-2016 season: the Mighty Teals. I made a player list for this team: Season: 2015-2016, Position: (All), Competition: (appropriate), Team: Mighty Teals, Grouping: Position, Players: Auto. The current season is 2016-2017, and all players who were on the Mighty Teals now have a new current team – the Mighty Teals is now set as a past team.

    The player list for the Mighty Teals is now empty. If I edit a player and set the Mighty Teals as a current team (even though the season is old), they appear in the team roster.

    This was working when I originally set it up, and I believe it broke when I upgraded to 2.1.4 today, though I haven’t checked it in a few days and it might have been broken in an earlier version. It was working 2-3 months ago when I originally set up SportsPress.

    @kriona Thanks for your feedback. Indeed, this was adjusted in version 2.1.4 to include only current players in player lists.

    I understand how having past players in a player list could be needed, so will be adding some additional features in the next update. Having a dropdown within each player list where you could select whether the Team is current, past, or any, I think would solve this issue.

    I’ll keep you posted.

    An option for “any” (past or current) would work for me.

    @kriona We’ve just released version 2.1.5 with an additional dropdown next to the Team selector in player lists. Now, you can choose the team, then from the options “All”, “Current”, and “Past”. By default, “All” will be selected, so there’s no need to go back and edit old player lists ??
