I expected the plugin to do this: show up on page (currently a “draft”) “Listen to the Band” and play

Instead it did this: displays nothing

Here’s what I’ve tried so far: I’ve successfully uploaded 9 songs, both mp3 and ogg. I used the short code. I’ve deactivated other plugins and tried again. I’ve also read through the forum. I saw something about the player playlist in another thread. Is this something in an earlier version or the Pro version? I don’t see that anywhere in my version.

    Thanks

At the moment the player doesn’t cope too well with things like apostrophes, inverted commas, slashes, & – stuff like that. And the result of having these makes the player just vanish or not display on the page with the shortcode… So please check through the plugin and remove any such characters/symbols from all fields. In particular check the Playlist Description field on Display Settings screen, and check your Song Titles.

It is a limitation in the plugin which I am hoping to fix up in next major release – apologies in the meantime!

Let me know if this solves your problem.

    Thanks for responding so quickly.

Per your suggestion I have removed quote symbols (“) and dashes from the Playlist description field. I removed apostrophes in two song titles and a dash in another. Still no luck. Any other ideas?

I had to reinstall version 2.0 to get it to work.

Maeve, I have now tried to troubleshoot in the following way.

I deleted all songs from “Manage Songs”. I deleted one song–both mp3 and ogg files–from the media library. I then uploaded and successfully saved the song directly from my computer to “Manage Songs”.

I’ve also deleted the text from the “Description”.

    I’ve published the page.

    The following occurs:
    1) two images of the player appear
    2) 3 icons for the song appear in each player
    3) none play music

    Do you have a suggestion?

Thank you for your time and help.

Hi Susan, do you by any chance have jetpack enabled?

Also, please can you try switching to the default twentyeleven theme and disabling all other plugins and tell me if that solves it? (Just trying to narrow down the issue and isolate the error to something more specific…)

    Thanks
