First, great plugin. Love the minimalist aesthetic, and it has worked fine on all platforms since we installed it Spring 2022.

The issue: although it seems to work on other versions of iOS on iPhone, if the user is on iOS 16.1.2, the embed displays properly, but when the user clicks “play”, nothing happens.

We already did all the standard updating and disabling of other plugins etc., to no avail. Also have a ticket in with Elementor, but although they’re making suggestions, so far they don’t think it’s an Elementor issue.

Relevant side note: We also installed “Music Player for Elementor”, and had a similar result, but it appears it uses a similar mechanism for embedding?

The page I need help with: [log in to see the link]

I don’t have a device running IOS 16.1.2, but I have tested audio album on a page of one of my test sites with IOS 16.2 and audio album is working exactly as expected there, however I can see the issue on your page when pressing play. The issue might be due to a javascript/jquery conflict.

To troubleshoot whether there is a conflict with a script in another plug-in or in your theme, you can install the WordPress health check and troubleshooting plugin: https://www.ads-software.com/plugins/health-check/ following the directions at https://make.www.ads-software.com/support/handbook/appendix/troubleshooting-using-the-health-check/#troubleshooting-with-a-specific-plugin

    Thanks for the response.

It’s interesting that the embeds on our site are working fine for every device we’ve tested (Brave, Chrome, FF on Win 7 & 10, multiple Android devices, multiple Mac laptops, various iPads, and even iPhones, with the exception those iPhones running iOS 16.1 or higher (you’re saying your device running 16.2 demonstrated the same behavior).

Really, thanks for your response, but it’s frustrating that so far no-one (Elementor support, or the support here) can say with any conviction where the problem lies. We also posted it as a general WordPress question (no uesful response yet), and submitted the possible “bug” to Apple as well (we don’t EVER expect a response THERE lol).

Will be a drag if we have to abandon the world of WP just to get a functioning simple audio player!

WordPress has a built-in Audio shortcode. It might be worthwhile investigating whether this works for you as an alternative.

Thanks so much for more followup. We tried this. Same result on iOS 16.1 and up (so far). We installed the troubleshooting plugin you suggested, and will explore that more in-depth very soon.

We’ll keep you posted if we identify the problem.

Audio Album uses WordPress’s built-in Audio Shortcode, and wraps it to add styling etc. Thid means that if the issue occurs when using native audio shortcodes, it naturally follows that audio album will be affected with the same issue.
