Player Photo – WordPress Profile Picture

Hello,
I am creating a website for teams to compete on and their players can submit there own stats.
I have locked down the wordpress admin dashboard as I do not what standard players seeing anything in there, meaning they cannot see their own Player profile to be able to add their own photo.
Is there a way that I can allow them to upload a wordpress profile picture which will then be used as their player photo in Sportspress?

Unfortunately this doesn’t seem to work.
On this player profile, which is linked to the user profile on WordPress, I have no photo set..
