Player Statistics not updating
-
Hi,
I have imported data for over 50 matches. When I check the team page where players are listed I can see the stats. However, when I click on each individual player I can’t see the statistics. Could you please support?

You have to make sure that each player has those particular seasons check off as well.
If you edit one of those players, in the statistics area, you will need to select the team they are playing for for any given season as well as placing a check mark next to the seasons that you wish to display. Save that player and then view them. Thanks @gator8
However to show stats for each individual player, I have to edit each player and select the team from the dropdown. That’s not a easy job for over 600+ players. Thanks @savvasha.
That’s a very long and a tedious process. I hope the automated process rolls out soon! Cause in any sport, in a tournament, there are several players who play and it’s not practical to update each player individually.
Looking for your support in times ahead!
@savvasha thanks once again!Hi @rochesterj, @savvasha
Please find attached 2 screenshots:
1. Full player listing of a team
2. Player detail pageAs you can see in the screenshot 1 all player statistics are being shown clearly. However in the player detail page those statistics are NOT SHOWING despite of the player being tagged under a team, league and season. What more is required to show the data on the player detail page?
Would appreciate your assistance.
Can you post a full screenshot of the player edit-page?
Thanks,
SavvasHi Huzan,
Thanks for your reply and I’m sorry that it isn’t working for you.
What happens when you set a team for your player here:
https://prntscr.com/i76xq7As far as I recall stats can only be recorded when assigned to a team, so maybe that’s the issue.
Thanks!
Hi @rochesterj,
It works if I do that. However, it’s quite cumbersome to do this manually for 600+ players. As you mentioned before the player needs to be assigned to a team, which is clearly there. Now I really can’t go about opening 600+ players and edit them manually. What’s the sense of having everything done manually when your plugin has the csv import feature?
Hi @huzanf
I’m glad it’s working now!
As we’ve mentioned before we are working on improvements for that and we hope that our next version includes this.
Unfortunately there’s no automated way of doing this right now.
Thanks!
Hi @rochesterj,
It’s still not working. I cannot go and manually change if for 600 players!!!As per this thread, I was told that the player needs to be assigned to a team, league, season which I have done. Additionally I or anyone using your plugin cannot go and check from the dropdown for each player individually.
It’s not a practical “working” way. I hope I’m not being demanding and unreasonable in asking you to fix something which is not working even after what you’re telling me to do.
Hi @huzanf
Thanks for your reply.
“It’s still not working.”
So when you edit for one player it still won’t work? Because in the previous message you said “It works if I do that. ”If you do get the stats in your page correctly, that’s the same issue as gator8 stated in the very beginning of this thread. There’s no easy fix for that, the tool for automating this process just doesn’t exist. It isn’t a matter of fixing a code, it’s an issue of creating a whole new block to make things easier.
“It’s not a practical “working” way. ”
We totally agree with you! When we released SportsPress there was no reason for spending hundreds of hours (or more) in some tools that we didn’t know people would use. That’s why we are working more and more in automation and better importing for bigger leagues. This issue in particular is very hard to tackle because of how the data is stored in SportsPress at the moment. You can imagine how big of a change it is to create a new way to store data while making older versions and updates work as well.
Thanks!
Hello @rochesterj,
When I mean “It’s still not working.”, I mean it’s still not the way it should ideally work.I totally appreciate that you’ll are working hard towards the plugin. It’s the right attitude one should have towards any sort of work.
I’m sincerely hoping that a breakthrough comes soon, considering that your plugin is a sports plugin and;
1. Sports usually have a lot of data.
2. You have over 10k+ downloads, so there are a lot of people taking support of your plugin.Should you need my help/assistance in any sort, please let me know.
Best Always,
HHi!
Thanks a lot for your kind words.
Indeed, SportsPress grew a lot and quite fast, so now we need to accommodate much bigger leagues. Any feedback is appreciated, in particular from users because you guys know much better about the daily routine of adding data.
You can expect a lot of improvements from our end and from our partners (our community very active and there are a lot of plugins that extend SportsPress quite nicely).
Thanks! ??
