Hi srinkenbaugh, You can reorder manually in your database.

But other users are not having this problem (or at least it hasn’t been reported) and it doesn’t happen for me on my test environment. Strange that it happened for you upon update to latest version + latest WP… can you maybe post a link here so I can check for anything obvious in the code that could be causing this?

    Thanks

Ok I checked it and can see 2 problems in the code that could be causing a malfunction with order:

    1. You have another media player enabled on the site. Most other audio players also use some of the same scripts, but they might be running different versions which causes things to break. So you need to only run 1 audio plugin on your site. Try removing the other media plugin and see if this solves your problem.

    2. You have some custom jQuery in your theme which might be conflicting. Please see FAQs point 5 down for more information.

Tried number one and that didn’t work. Looked to find the custom jQuery but found nothing. When I try to reorder the songs it looks like this

I have seen this before on earlier versions of the plugin… but it was fixed…. please can you check and confirm you are running v2.0?

    Thanks

Ok I’m checking your code again and I can see that you haven’t filled in the required fields correctly either…

You haven’t used a proper ogg file… you’ve just put the filepath to the same mp3 file. You need to add a proper ogg file so that it works on all browsers and devices and without it the player will not play the songs.

Also there is still some rogue jQuery in there causing errors (just check your error console and you can see it). This time it’s coming from another plugin – the slideshow plugin so try deactivating that and see if the order now works in the html5 player plugin.

It’s important to work through issues like this systematically and so you need to make sure your player is set up and configured right, and you need to rule out conflicts with other plugins or your theme. Please try these things as above and let me know if this fixes your issue.

    Thanks

I am having the exact same issue.
We don’t have any other media players and all songs have their repsective mp3 & ogg files.

    WordPress version: 3.5.1
    Plugin version:2.0
    Link to my site:www.milkmusic.ca
    Music will be found here:
    https://milkmusic.ca/catalog/

I expected the plugin to do this:
I need to re-order the tracks in a few of the playlists and the drag and drop functionality has stopped working.

    Instead it did this:
When I click to select a song to move it, it drops the rest of the songs in the playlist far down the page. I can send you a screenshot if you like.

Here’s what I’ve tried so far:
    1)deactivating other plugins
2)deactivating the player and then reactivating

Many thanks. Other than this one thing, the plug-in is fantastic. We love it!!! Cheers. -Lil

Hi Lil, thanks for reading the sticky and providing this info… I’ve taken a look at your site (very nice design btw) and can’t see anything immediately obvious… I would like to take a closer look at the code if that’s ok with you? If so, please can you email me privately [email protected] with some temporary admin login details?

    Thanks

Hi, similar problem to above systemlil.

When trying drag&droping tracks to reorder in -Manage Playlist- the playlist seen here is enlarging (to be seen only in the -Manage Playlist- section, it doesn’t concern the player on the website).

To reorder tracks is not possible. Using the Pro Vers 2. Mediaplayer deactivated.

Also, since using the player, by switching menu levels in wordpress I get a message:

    Fatal error: Uncaught exception ‘Exception’ with message ‘WP_Http/WP_Error message: name lookup timed out’ in /homepages/0/d356016869/htdocs/wp-content/plugins/songkick-concerts-and-festivals/songkick_events.php:62 Stack trace: #0 /homepages/0/d356016869/htdocs/wp-content/plugins/songkick-concerts-and-festivals/songkick_events.php(26): SongkickEvents->fetch(‘https://api.song…’) #1 /homepages/0/d356016869/htdocs/wp-content/plugins/songkick-concerts-and-festivals/songkick_settings.php(13): SongkickEvents->test_api_call() #2 [internal function]: check_api_key(”) #3 /homepages/0/d356016869/htdocs/wp-includes/plugin.php(406): call_user_func_array(‘check_api_key’, Array) #4 /homepages/0/d356016869/htdocs/wp-admin/admin.php(111): do_action(‘admin_init’) #5 {main} thrown in /homepages/0/d356016869/htdocs/wp-content/plugins/songkick-concerts-and-festivals/songkick_events.php on line 62

    Thanks,
    Sven

Thank you for the last update. This issue solved too, really appreciate your great work.

    still..

When trying to drag&drop tracks in -Manage Playlist- section the playlist seen here is vertically enlarging by any mouse movement (to be seen only in the -Manage Playlist- section, it doesn’t concern the player on the website).

To reorder tracks is not possible. Using the Pro Vers 2. Mediaplayer deactivated.

Loved the lite version, so easy and quick to set up, that’s why I bought the pro version.
I had nothing but problems with it so far, but it’s early days so I will hold back on my queries + frustrations.
I can definitely confirm the drag + drop option error as mentioned above

“When I click to select a song to move it, it drops the rest of the songs in the playlist far down the page. I can send you a screenshot if you like.:

I am using Safari, thinking of changing ??

Ps I have deactivated all plugins apart from HTML5 jQuery Audio Player Pro, should I have (lite version) HTML5 jQuery Audio Player activated as well?

Is it ok to use numbers in song titles?

    Thank you for any advice…

Guys I can’t replicate this problem and there is nothing I can do to help you if I can’t see the problem for myself. You need to provide links to your sites so I can see the code.

That said, the backend drag n drop uses AJAX and jQuery to work… so it is highly likely that if you’re experiencing problems it is down to a jQuery conflict…. check the FAQs for more info…. and the first step to narrow this down and isolate the error is to deactivate all other plugins and switch to the twentyeleven default theme and see if the problem is still happening… please report back..

    Thanks
