PLEA FOR HELP: Accidental One Step Upgrade On Existing Blog – Recovery Ideas??

  • So in my haste to upgrade to coltrane, i accidently did the one step upgrade. Bottom line, it wipes out your existing databases. I was left with one post. Luckily my hosting provider had a backup. I’ve managed to restore the database, but can’t seem to get wordpress to work, though the database appears to be fine.

    Now, I’ve combed through all the support entries and have tried everything from the UTF-8 removals to deleting my wordpress installation.

    What i’ve now done is the manual installation. I’ve followed all the steps except for removing plugins b/c I don’t have access to the admin screen. Still nothing works. In fact. I keep getting a ton of errors that look like this:

  • Your plugins are causing that particular issue. (specifically add-to-any-subscribe). Best step at this stage it probably to delete or rename your plugins directory via ftp or shell.
