This is the only plugin that compares everything. Great idea for development!
    Improvements needed:

    • Add a save button separately, this is necessary on slow servers!
    • Add a description of the fields that is a tooltip
    • Immediately show an example of a table inside the plugin. It’s boring to watch how the table turned out in the front end all the time
    • adding fields must be done immediately, without the “edit” button. It’s easier and more convenient!
    • put table editing in the frontend so that users can add their own options
    • Add Ajax view comparison results

    Is this possible, please write?

Hi @lotfreeman, sorry for the late reply I did not receive an e-mail about your post. Those are great suggestions!! Some are more difficult to implement than others, I will look into them the coming weeks and keep you posted here. Do not hold your breath though, the coming weeks will be quite busy for me.

Thanks again for the suggestions, have a great day!

In detail my thoughts so far about your valid points:

    • Add a save button separately, this is necessary on slow servers! <- Ah yes, this is difficult because of the way it saves the data now, but it is a valid point, will definitely look into it.
    • Add a description of the fields that is a tooltip <- I think you mean to be able to convert the overlay to a tooltip? That would be a great suggestion and not too hard to implement, will look into that soon.
    • Immediately show an example of a table inside the plugin. It’s boring to watch how the table turned out in the front end all the time <- You mean some sort of preview button? Do you not use two tabs and refresh? That is what I do. I think a preview button would be feasible, but it would also be a bit slow, just like refreshing a page. Or do you mean something else?
    • adding fields must be done immediately, without the “edit” button. It’s easier and more convenient! <- this is because you can add different tables, so you must be able to select which one you are editing. And with many fields, it may be complex to see what you are doing if they are shown all at the same time. Or am I misunderstanding?
    • put table editing in the frontend so that users can add their own options <- this is difficult for me to program, because I lack frontend knowledge especially regarding the gutenberg / block editors, will probably not be done anytime soon. Unless you know someone who would be willing to work with me on this?
    • Add Ajax view comparison results <- ah yes, this is on my list, but was too much work before initial release. The plugin is prepared for it though.

Hope this helps so far. Have a good weekend!

    Thanks for the detailed answer!

    • “Add a separate save button, this is necessary on slow servers” – We are waiting for the update!
    • “I think you mean the ability to convert the overlay into a tooltip?” – We are waiting for the update!
    • “Do you mean some kind of preview button?” – I agree with you, you don’t have to add it. It’s too much!
    • “With a large number of fields, it can be difficult to understand what you are doing if they are all displayed at the same time” – It seems that it is more visual and easier to fill out the fields at once without unnecessary sidebars and windows, like Excel, Google Sheets. At your discretion!
    • “Place table editing in the external interface” – we are waiting for it in the future. I hope with time you will get the hang of it!
    • “Add comparison results for Ajax views” – Waiting for the update!

    More suggestions:

    • add the ability to insert photos, videos, links into the fields. Now you have implemented placing the HTML code in the Tooltip. It is not comfortable!

Let me know your minor updates, I will test it
    Your fan, great success!

    Another inconvenience noticed!
Please freely move fields in filled tables or add a new field anywhere in the table. The solution can be whatever is most convenient for you!
When the table is long, it is very difficult to add the right element to the right line so that there is a logical order

We are waiting for your works!

Hi @lotfreeman, you can move the fields freely by grabbing the :: in front of them and dropping them between other fields. Is this not what you mean?

Right. I didn’t notice it at first. Then I saw it. This is a very useful feature for long tables!
How are you doing, when can we expect a partial update?

Hello @lotfreeman, currently I am not working on this plugin, because there is a lot of other things as well pressing me. I made this for a client who is happily using it at this moment. It will be at least a couple of weeks before I can work on this specific plugin again, I will likely start with the ajax view comparison results then.

I am more than willing to collaborate with someone though, if you have / know a developer who would be willing to do some of your requests on this! They can work with me through github. Let me know.

    Kind regards,
    Joeri
