Please add support for Jetpack’s Markdown writing tools in custom fields

  • The politics of all this aside right now, I have a serious functionality issue that has been lodged on the ACF support forums, directly with WP Engine a couple times since they bought it out — but has been filed away as non-essential I guess.

    We write a lot of our content in Markdown and Jetpack has great support for being able to write/paste in/ maintain this format in the standard WP fields, however ACF fields have never supported (there were some community hacks years ago that never fully worked and were abandoned.

    Someone please consider carrying over support for this from Jetpack or as an independent feature.

    Hi @elxr !

    That sounds like an excellent feature request!

    You could certainly open a new issue to suggest it. For anyone that would like to contribute to the plugin, some folks are already working on adding the plugin to a GitHub repository. For now, you can join the channel, secure-custom-fields on Make WordPress Slack, and make the suggestion there for when a Github repo is live.
