I have tried using twenty fifteen theme and still get the error so I don’t think it is theme related.

Did you try a few times? Sometimes it works. Keep changing options and adding to basket ??

I just tried to add the same product to the basket three times without changing options. It worked the first two times but the third time it said “Please choose product options…”

Any help would be great, there is definitely something not working.

Keep your console open (in chrome, View > Developer > Console). When it breaks, see what is output.

    Hi Mike,

Nothing is output to the console. No javascript errors. Only thing reported is:

JQMIGRATE: Migrate is installed, version 1.4.0

If you go to this link https://spars.co.uk/product/red-fleck-braid-on-braid/ and change the last option “mousing loop” then try to add to the basket it will always throw the error message “Please choose product options”. If you try again without changing options it will usually add it.

You can test yourself but i see no errors in the console.

No errors for me with that case.

This does use ajax to find a match – maybe in your case this request is failing. You can see the requests as they are made on the ‘network’ > ‘xhr’ tab of your console.

Thanks for getting back again Mike,

XHR is showing HTTP 200 so its successful.

If i do it so i get the options error, then refresh the page and choose to submit the form again the error persists so perhaps the data being submitted is wrong?

I’m really surprised you can’t get the error, I’m seeing it on multiple browsers on multiple machines (both mac os x) and it was reported to me by the client who obviously experienced it on their machines (windows).

Do you have any more ideas of things to try?

This is happening on several products which have a lot of variations (over 100) so i’m fairly sure it’s nothing to do with how the products have been set up in woo commerce, but does seem to be a woo commerce issue…

These are the options I’m trying https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/s/dq0m1jnou1k6vgk/2016-05-26%20at%2010.44.png?dl=0

Is this what you’re doing? If this message appears I’d expect the matching variation to not exist or not be purchasable. But in this case it is, because I can add it to cart.

    Ok thanks Mike,

I can’t pin it down to a specific variation.

Looking at the variations in the admin i can see that some one has added conflicting variations – i.e. “8mm, 10, Braid on braid splice, Mousing loop” but they have also added “8mm, 10, Any splice, Any mousing loop” Could this be causing some random errors

It could cause problems if they overlap, but I’m not sure about errors unless one was out of stock for example..

Today I have set my W3 total cache plugin to default settings, and after that the problem with choosing product options have disappeared. Also the problems I had with some of my immages not displaying in my lightbox.

    Thread Starter ralphonz

    (@ralphonz)

Unfortunately I’m not using W3 total cache so that doesn’t help me. I am using autoptimize and Wordfence Performance but I have turned these off and the problem persists. Also I am not using a lightbox plugin – the client doesn’t like them!

I did note its hard to actually see when the ajax is looking for matches. Changed that here https://github.com/woothemes/woocommerce/commit/0cb2f2760c1e39a5a5636489aa3efe45b087bcd5
