Hello and thank you for your work.

We have just upgraded Postie from (the quite old) v1.9.23 to the latest v1.9.65

When going through Setting –>Mailserver –> Mail Userid:
“Note that Postie will read and DELETE all the email in this account.” Is this true?

BUT. We do NOT want our emails to be deleted from the email account. That would be a disaster. So we immediately disabled the plugin.

We need the emails to still exist in the email account even after Postie has processed them. Is there an option to keep the emails in our account?

This has been the behaviour since the beginning of Postie. This is how Postie knows if the email has been imported already, otherwise the same email will get posted over and over again.

If you really want to keep the messages then you should set up the account to automatically forward them to a different archive account.

From what I see those earlier emails are still with us. I don’t know how we managed that. In any case, I think it would be much better if one could have an option of keeping the emails intact without having to create a new account.

    Thank you for your reply.
